What weapon should I keep near my bed?
I’ve always been afraid of a break in and other then a lamp I have nothing for a weapon if someone breaks in late at night.
Guns are out of the question, so what should I keep near by bed for a weapon. I do Japanese karate and a bit of soccer, so I can handle myself a bit, but as in weapon wise.
Keep a cell phone by your bed and call 911. The police will come and clean up after your attacker is finished, usually in ten minutes or so.
I would get a shotgun, load it with #4 buck, and keep that by the bed. Use a pump shotgun, load the magazine, but do not put one in the chamber. If needed, pump the action and you are ready to go.
The problem is that your attacker may be able to hurt you before you can protect yourself by hand. This assumes that your attacker did not bring a gun. If he did, you are his to do with as he feels.
The only reason that I could see for a gun being out of the question would be if you were a convicted felon.
I don’t see why guns would be out of the question. If your assailant has a gun, it doesn’t really matter if you whip out a baseball bat or throwing stars, you’re at the disadvantage and will be SOL.
